A modern image layout based in the Derbyshire Peaks are of Buxton and shows the station and depot at a time in the early 1990s before the Privatisation of the Railway Sectors in 1995. Passenger train movements include regular services linking Buxton with Manchester and also through to Blackpool and Liverpool. Buxton Depot is the stabling and fuelling point for many of the engines used on the Peak Forest area quarry trains. Damaged wagons from quarry and supply trains are also brought into the depot for repairs in the engine shed.
